Prémices d'une expression

Après un passage dans le désert du Hoggar, après avoir goûté aux longs silences, après avoir découvert les nomades des sables, leur cérémonie du thé, leur hospitalité..., j'ai décidé d'axer ma pratique plastique sur l'idée primordiale à mes yeux, du lien social.

-Le thé est là pour signifier la constance d'un échange cérémoniale et subtile, il est aussi le signifiant d'une matérialité sensuelle.

-Le carré évoque la stabilité, la limite, la simplicité minimale,

-Les vieilles dentelles familiales et les vieux draps d'autrefois sont quant à eux, une façon de rendre compte de la notion de mémoire...

Tout le monde a une histoire commune avec la nature, un lien vital avec elle. Ainsi, travailler avec ou sur la nature permet de mieux communiquer : lier contact, tisser des liens, nouer des attaches... avec qui veut partager.

Hierna besloot ik mijn kunst te concentreren op het, mijn inziens, meest primaire concept: de sociale band. I stayed in the Hoggar Desert for a while. I tasted the long silences. The old family lace and sheets from the past are a way of capturing the notion of memory... Everyone shares a common history with nature and has a vital connection to it. Working with or in nature enables us to communicate better: make contact, establish relationships and form attachments... with anyone who is willing to share.
